As I said in part 1, the main purpose of our trip other then just to get away and spend time together as a family was to visit Tim's grandparents in Ocala. They had never met Rory and that needed to change immediately!
We flew out on Thursday, Rory is a pro at flying now. She watches Mickey and eats her snacks and was distracted for the full 3 hour flight.
When we got there we checked into our hotel and went to dinner at an Italian Restaurant. Rory hadn't taken a nap all day so she was little crabby but she instantly LOVED Nanny and Grandpa.
Rory fell right to sleep and slept great on her cot. And Friday we spent the whole day at Disney as you saw in Part 1.
Saturday we headed over N&G's house to hang out. Rory was excited to wear her dress and hat! We all went to an epic amazing park and Rory had fun playing and showing N&G all that she can do.
One cool thing about our hotel was that since Ocala is known for having a lot of horse training and breeding there were silks hanging in the lobby. I took lots of photos of Rory in front of them.
When Rory (and I) woke up we went to the pool for a little while then checked out the horses that live on the Hilton property. They had a Clydesdale which is my favorite horse ever (and not just because I like to drink beer), so I was excited. Rory being Rory was excited to go see them and then was totally freaked out of once we got close.
He's so cute, and makes me want a Bud Light Lime!
We went back to N&Gs for dinner. Rory played and watched TV with Pop Pop.
Rory ate like 4 drumsticks and a huge piece of lemon cake. For the record she prefers lemon cake over blueberry pie - just like Mommy and Daddy.
And that was Saturday. Lots of fun!
Sunday we woke up and headed over to N&G's to pick them up for a tour of the Horse farms and to lunch but not before another photo session.
Rory was kind of obsessed with Nanny's little chairs.
We drove around and saw all of the Horse Farms. The size of them was really amazing. There are big name horses that came from this area and are still living there so it was cool to see. Of course Tim loved it! N&G had no idea all of this was so close to their house.
Here is Tim in front of Kinsman Stable.
Rory getting a little pep talk before lunch.
When I was in Nashville back in April I got a recommendation from a random person to go eat at Harry's on the Square, so we went to try it out. It was awesome. We had mussels and I had mahi mahi tacos. yum.
And like the Chicago cows, or the Buffalo Grove buffalos Ocala has beautiful painted horses all over the downtown area.
We said our goodbyes and back for naps. Then we had dinner just the 3 of us at a Mexican restaurant near our hotel.
We had a great weekend! Loved every minute of it and loved seeing N&G!
